I have experienced TMJ for about ten years and began receiving treatment which included a night guard at a dentist’s office. While this took away most of the pain, I noticed that my neck muscles were very tense and causing what appeared to be a pull on my jaw — which was likely to be the very root of my pain and TMJ issues.
I went into Don’s office in a lot of pain with migraines, jaw tension, as well as neck tightness and postural issues. He immediately listened to my concerns and asked me some questions to get the full picture of my story. He brought out anatomy books and pictures so that I could visually see what was going on in my body. He also did a postural assessment where I displayed a forward head posture.
The second part of the session, he began to work on strengthening muscles that were weak and decreasing tension in muscles that were too tight. Every session, Don sends home exercises to continue in between his sessions which have also been amazing to incorporate into my routines.
Flash forward to now — it has been several months of treatment with Don, and I am now pain-free, with no forward head posture. I’ve even been able to correct an upslip in my pelvic bone as well as a tight talus bone. I continue to do the exercises that he provides and come in every few weeks for maintenance treatment.
Don is knowledgeable, present, and loves what he does. It is evident in his practice and in the treatment of his patients. I would recommend Don to anyone in pain or experiencing a sports injury!
Sincerely,
Kelsey
